The private rerun isn't counted after you submit, but there is still a run happening as part of saving a notebook version. </p>\n<p>Note that there is an environment variable that you can use for knowing if your notebook is in a \"real\" scoring run or just an interactive/commit run - <a href=\"https://www.kaggle.com/product-feedback/315792\" target=\"_blank\">https://www.kaggle.com/product-feedback/315792</a></p>",

My understanding is that the LB public test set is only ~10% of the private test set used for final ranking, and that model inference time is proportional to the size of the test data. What about if the submission notebook runtime &lt; 9 hours on the public test set (say 7 hours) but &gt; 9 hours on the private test set? How do you guys handle it?</p>",
