"content": "
Hey Kagglers,
\n\n
after three exiting months the competition is over! We can see all the hard work you did and we hope you learned as much as we did during this time! We thank everyone for participating in this climate science competition and make it a success. The enthusiasm and creativity you showed in the discussions has been overwhelming! Congratulations to our winners!
\n\n
The competition is over, but for us the work just started. We are curious about the physical mechanisms that lead to these structures and with your help we will now be able to detect the patterns more efficiently. We will keep you updated and show you which follow-up projects benefit from this competition.
\n\n
In the meantime, we know, that the noisy and overlapping labels were very challenging. Clouds can look so different and are at the same time so similar. Even the human labelers had their difficulties and did not always agree with each other.\nIf you are curious and want to play a bit more with the data, we published the complete dataset, which includes each single label, so you could train a model with information about the labelers. We did not include this in the competition, as ranking would have been difficult to achieve.
\n\n
Anyway, this has been a very fun and enlightening project 🌼
\n\n
Thank you again for participating!
\n\n
Best,\nHauke and Stephan
",
