"content": "
When I plot the trajectory of some particles from the truth information dataframe, it is pretty clear that the particles from a single trajectory appear in the dataframe in order. I understand that all of the trajectories are intertwined together in hits information, but would I be correct in saying that the last hit of a single trajectory will always be the last hit listed for that trajectory?
\n\n
I gather that this is correct from what I just said about the truth information, but I'm not sure if that was just put in order for us to make the trajectories clear.
",

      "content": "
No the order is not meant to make the trajectories clear. Hits within a module are randomized, then the modules are ordered by volume_id then layer_id then module_id (see Data tab). So what is true is that hits tend to be ordered inside out (increasing radius and z). And looking at the diagram under \"Event\" in the Data tab, one can see that a particle leaving the region around 0,0 perpendicular to the z axis will cross volume 8 then 13 then 17, so these hits will proably be in order. A particle leaving towards the right with a small angle will cross 8 9 14, again in order. But towards the left it would be 8 7 13, does not work.
",
