  "content": "<p>I've been trying to install LightGBM for R on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS for the past few days, but I've been experiencing a lot of trouble.</p>\n\n<p>I've been following all the steps here: <a href=\"https://github.com/Microsoft/LightGBM/tree/master/R-package\">https://github.com/Microsoft/LightGBM/tree/master/R-package</a> </p>\n\n<p>but for some reason it always says \"insufficient gcc version\" even though I have already installed gcc. I have gcc version 6 as well as gcc 4.8 and none of them seem to be \"sufficient\".</p>\n\n<p>Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.</p>\n\n<p>Also, for some reason I can't find solutions about this online either.</p>\n\n<p>Thanks so much</p>",

R LightGBM contributors/maintainers are pretty much responsive. </p>",
