  "content": "<p>Hi everyone, I’m still quite new to Kaggle competitions and I ran into a situation that made me curious.</p>\n<p>In my submissions, I noticed that one of my notebooks actually achieved a very high private score (higher than the top 1 on the leaderboard). However, I didn’t choose that notebook as my final submission.</p>\n<p>My questions are:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Does the private score shown in the submissions table truly reflect what my leaderboard rank would have been if I had selected that notebook as final?</li>\n<li>Has anyone else experienced this — having a submission with a very strong private score, but it wasn’t counted because it wasn’t among the final submissions?<br>\n<img src=\"https://www.googleapis.com/download/storage/v1/b/kaggle-forum-message-attachments/o/inbox%2F2106526%2Fac9b90569e47c762b300d519ac293f1a%2FScreenshot%202025-10-01%20at%2009.28.56.png?generation=1759286132344558&amp;alt=media\" alt=\"submissions\"></li>\n</ul>\n<p>I’d really love to hear from more experienced competitors.
