Hope you guys are doing great.</p>\n<p>A few months ago, there was a competition organized by the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) on Melanoma classification. This was a perfect opportunity to learn deep learning and computer vision although the competition was a bit intimidating and challenging for a beginner.</p>\n<p>So, I took my time for understanding to handle the concepts of deep learning, computer vision. The journey of learning how to handle the data, training and validating the model, learning new concepts like pytorch, keras was definitely an experience I will never forget. Although I didn't score much on the competition, this led an idea to use the data at present and create an application that can help the people around to identify skin cancer at the earliest for more treatment opportunities.</p>\n<p>This brings me to introduce my AI powered healthcare application DermaChecker.
