"content": "
Yesterday I had the second of two surgeries required to remove an early stage melanoma. I am fortunate that the melanoma was detected early enough, and I should not require any further treatment, although frequent monitoring will be necessary. With melanoma in particular, early diagnosis is critical to patient survival. Any improvement in technology which can aid doctors in making an early diagnosis, or improving access to diagnostic technology, will save lives.
\n\n
While I don't have a lot of experience with image recognition algorithms, I will be watching with interest to see all the wonderful contributions you will make.
\n\n
So best of luck, and thank you again. 💛
",

The doctor's initial observation was that there was nothing to be immediately concerned about, but the mole was unusual compared with the others on my body, and had an irregular focus.
