      "content": "<p>For what I understand, if your glioblastoma is MGMT positive, meaning the gene is methylated, you will be better off with the usual chemotherapy (Temozolomide) and maybe you are a candidate for a stronger series of chemotherapy with the same drug. check: </p>\n<p><a href=\"https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/nejmoa043331\" target=\"_blank\">https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/nejmoa043331</a></p>",

          "content": "<p>I found it incredible how the same epigenetic silencing of the MGMT gene via promoter methylation in tumors (resulting in lower expression of the MGMT protein &amp; diminished DNA-repair activity), which is an \"early and important aspect in tumor development because it is how tumor-suppressor genes are inactivated, is the same aspect that is associated with the benefit of longer survival of patients treated with temozolomide.  Guess this is science research at its best!</p>\n<p>On the other hand, \"high levels of MGMT activity in cancer cells create a resistant phenotype by blunting the therapeutic effect of alkylating agents and may be an important determinant of treatment failure\".  </p>\n<p>Very great read, thanks!</p>",
