  "content": "<p>I guess this is primarily directed towards our hosts, Tim and Jin <a href=\"https://www.kaggle.com/hoonpyotimjeon\" target=\"_blank\">@hoonpyotimjeon</a></p>\n<p>We were told that:</p>\n<blockquote>\n  <p>In this competition, your challenge is to create algorithms for \"Knowledge Tracing,\" the modeling of student knowledge over time. The goal is to accurately predict how students will perform on future interactions. Your innovative algorithms will help tackle global challenges in education. If successful, it’s possible that any student with an Internet connection can enjoy the benefits of a personalized learning experience, regardless of where they live.</p>\n</blockquote>\n<p>If possible, could you share a bit more how you intend the solutions and knowledge gleamed from this competition be put into practice? In one of the previous papers from Riiid before the SAINT twins, a lot of time was spent arguing that the ability to predict student performance accurately helps bolster student confidence in the system, which in turn causes them to go all-in trusting the service more and benefiting more from it. Is that the primary utility your company intends on pursuing, or are there other systems in santa and your platforms that can also benefit?</p>\n<p>This was my first time diving into KT and EdTech. Thank you for the competition.</p>",

Then each student can be provided with a report showing their progress. My early estimate was that 400 questions = 1 logit ability increase = 1 year of conventional education. </p>\n<p>b) a solution that enables Riiid! to improve their question-selection algorithm. An obvious improvement is a reduction in administrations of the same question to a student.</p>",
