It allows you to place multiple files in one container (like a .zip).</p>\r\n<p>The .bz2 is a compression algorithm used to make the data smaller.</p>\r\n<p>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tar_(computing)<br>\r\nhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bzip2</p>\r\n<p>A program like 7zip will open them. &nbsp;If you're on a Mac/Linux, you can use the command line to extract the contents.</p>\r\n<p>Let me know if that's clear enough,<br>\r\n<span style=\"line-height:1.4em\">Will&nbsp;</span></p>",

We archived the folders within the <span>mjff_text_files.zip</span> so that when you extract it, it doesn't take up 25GB&#43; of space. &nbsp;Each .tar.bz2 file represents data collected for the given subject and time period. &nbsp;To get the competition files,\r\n you have to unzip&nbsp;<span>mjff_text_files.zip, then extract each folder seperately (and you may want to write you code to do this on the fly). &nbsp;This keeps the size reasonable.</span></p>",
