  "content": "<p>I noticed that with focal loss, I needed to set a higher threshold for outputting result (&gt;0) to get better results, whereas regular loss only needs threshold at about -1 to -2. Is that the case for you? What thresholds for focal loss worked for you the best?</p>\n\n<p>Also, I wonder how did you guys determine sigma value in focal loss. I implemented same alpha and beta values in focal loss as Centernet paper, but I didn't find its implementation of sigma value in gaussian HM generation. I am currently using the default 1.</p>",
