  "content": "<p>I can accept that any company or government is free to make their own rules, even discriminatory it they wish.</p>\n<p>So I am not disappointed with this agency in particular,  <strong>What I do care about is Kaggle</strong> accepting to host a competition on this rules, mostly because Kaggle is a great place, a great global community and I would really like Kaggle to keep on being a great place. </p>\n<p>So, please Kaggle, don't begin changing this way, IMHO this kind of stuff is no cool at all.</p>",

Maybe Kaggle thinks it is in business of hosting competitions but instead it in the business of providing private club of interests for data scientists (in exchange for almost unlimited time and effort that goes into competitions). And where will be such club without members? </p>\n\n<p>There are already immense competition for free time and attention of data scientists (there are dozens places which hosts comps and not enough time to even look at most competitions). </p>",

In the same way every participant is free to remain out of the competition if they do not like the rules...</p>\n\n<p>But from the point of view of Kaggle, this is a serious mistake. There is a significant portion of their user base that is automatically excluded just because of an arbitrary rule. And considering that this is the largest dataset in Kaggle to date (and possibly the largest prize), this is a shame :( A very sad thing to see.</p>",
