\nThis competition ended with 8,025 registrations and 1,602 participants on 1,220 teams. We had 27,149 submissions from 83 countries. For 305 users (including 34 in the top 100!), this was their first competition. We also had 4 new Masters and 2 new Grandmasters at the conclusion of the competition! Thank you all for your hard work in this competition and congratulations to our winners and to those who gained a new ranking!
\nThe closing of this competition is challenging as it was unfortunately targeted by a group that sells competition medals. Thus it took us some time to finalize the leaderboard. We should be mindful though that a team that shares some characteristics with fake teams (like the number of its members, or their account age or progression tier, etc.) isn't necessarily fake itself. I can verify that we've had personal contact with at least one such team, in fact.
\nI've looked into the reports of legit teams that have been removed or accounts that have been banned and I haven't discovered any false positives yet. During the medal buying investigation, we did come across a number of real accounts that were in violation of Kaggle's Community Guidelines (progression and account abuse, generally) which were banned as part of that investigation though not suspected of medal buying themselves.
