  "content": "<p>Hi all,</p>\n<p>Thanks to everyone again for their patience as judge scores came in. We were thrilled with the participation, enthusiasm, and skill shown by this year's participants. A few notes on next steps.</p>\n<p><strong>Virtual show</strong></p>\n<p>The 8 finalists will be competing for an additional 10000 in prize money -- and in a new twist for this year, their job is to convince an NFL front office to use their work/algorithm/findings to find ways to improve on Special Teams. The eight finalists have picked the following teams for their presentation: </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jack Lichtenstein, Eagles</li>\n<li>Jay Li, Rahul Kasar, Chargers</li>\n<li>Robyn Ritchie, Brendan Kumagai, Ryker Moreau, &amp; Elijah Cavan, Chiefs</li>\n<li>Ian Barnett, 49ers</li>\n<li>John Miller, Uri Smashnov, Cowboys</li>\n<li>Joseph Rudoler, Tai Nguyen, Ryan Brill, Ryan Gross, Ravens</li>\n<li>Marc Richards, Wei Peng, Jack Werner, Sam Walczak, Vikings</li>\n<li>Robert Sims, Patriots</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Finalist presentations will be aggregated and shared by NFL Media, likely at the end of the month, as the culmination of the 2022 Big Data Bowl</p>\n<p><strong>Judge feedback</strong></p>\n<p>We aim to provide feedback on papers to anyone who wants it. We're a bit loaded with other responsibilities right now, but either in mid-March or early April, we'll be providing details on how folks can get feedback on their papers. I wish we could do this immediately -- but Tom and I at the league office have other roles to fill until then.</p>\n<p><strong>What's next year?</strong></p>\n<p>We're always open for feedback on our event, and hope to continue with the Big Data Bowl in 2023. As in 2020, we may also try to return to a \"live leaderboard\" approach to our contest. Have ideas?
