  "content": "<p>I'm quite new to NFL rules, and find this video useful in guiding me of kickoff rules as an intro:</p>\n<p><a href=\"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HwNDNeDpFw&amp;t=3s\" target=\"_blank\">Intro to (American) Football: Kickoffs</a></p>\n<p>In order to share what I learn and hope anyone could give me some feedback on my understanding, I created some charts below to illustrate the outcomes of a kickoff, according to NFL rule.</p>\n<p>btw, the online tactical board is very helpful to create visualizations on a football field.<br>\nHere is the <a href=\"https://tactical-board.com/uk/american-football\" target=\"_blank\">link</a> if anyone is interested as well.</p>\n<p>Here we go:</p>\n<p>There are basically 4 outcomes of a kickoff:</p>\n<p>**- Kick the ball beyond the end zone of the returning team<br>\n**<br>\n<a href=\"https://drive.google.com/file/d/12Vaym4SEp0qCdDTGybIWTaveyFbehSf8/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\">board</a></p>\n<p>In this case, it is a <strong>touchback</strong>, and the returning team will possess the ball and start their round at **25-yard **line from their end.</p>\n<p>**- Kick the ball over 40-yard line, but out of the bound(side)<br>\n**<br>\n<a href=\"https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mlQjqHjAndmXsdoL8zuqgtfgdBSBxLwo/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\">board</a></p>\n<p>In this case, the kicking team will get a penalty that the receiving will possess the ball and start their round at <strong>40-yard</strong> line.</p>\n<p>**- Kick the ball no further than 40-yard line and also out of the bound(side)<br>\n**<a href=\"https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tuBcsIK_A_f208QM3rbqHPWAYcOCI3Ph/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\">board</a></p>\n<p>In this case, the receiving team will possess the ball and start the ball where it goes out of bound, which the receiving team will be very happy.</p>\n<p>**- Kick the ball down in the field<br>\n**In this case, the receiving team will return the ball to the end zone of the kickoff team once they possess the ball. </p>\n<p>Thanks for reading it and please let me know if I am wrong or miss something here. :) </p>",
