  "content": "<p>Just sharing this because I lost many hours trying to figure this out as it is my first time submitting to Kaggle…</p>\n<p>If you click the \"submit to competition\" button on the right hand side of a notebook you are actively editing then it won't work. You have to first save a version of your notebook, wait a couple of minutes for it to install all your dependencies and run. Then once it has run you can hit the submit button from the <em>non-edit</em> view. Things will now run correctly.</p>\n<p>I was getting Inference Server errors almost immediately and it took me about 12 submission attempts to realise it was failing because the code was not initialised yet and my custom dependencies hadn't been installed.</p>\n<p>Basically when I hit submit to competition my <strong>active events</strong> tab would kick off a notebook build and a competition submission in parallel. The competition submission was failing <em>before the notebook had even left the queue for building!</em>.</p>",
