I will update the list below throughout the competition.***\n\n***If you have an external data source not listed below, please comment the details and I will add them to the table***\n\n
\n\n---\n\n
\n\n### **1.** [**HuBMAP - Hacking the Kidney**](https://www.kaggle.com/competitions/hubmap-kidney-segmentation/data)\n* Last year's competition data (PAS staining of Kidney FTU)\n* The HuBMAP data used in this hackathon includes 11 fresh frozen and 9 Formalin Fixed Paraffin Embedded (FFPE) PAS kidney images. Glomeruli FTU annotations exist for all 20 tissue samples; some of these will be shared for training, and others will be used to judge submissions.\n* The dataset is comprised of very large (>500MB - 5GB) TIFF files. \n * The training set has 8 images, and the public test set has 5. \n * The private test set is larger than the public test set.\n* Access Link - https://www.kaggle.com/competitions/hubmap-kidney-segmentation/data\n* No specific user-contributed this\n\n
\n\n### **2.** [**HuBMAP Portal**](https://portal.hubmapconsortium.org/)\n* This is the data portal for one of the host/sponsors and may contain images very similar to those found within the private/public test dataset\n* The HuBMAP portal has a range of datasets... however, the majority appear to be of Kidneys and appear to have PAS staining\n* Access Link - https://portal.hubmapconsortium.org/\n* Access Link to PAS Stain Search Results - https://portal.hubmapconsortium.org/search?mapped_data_types[0]=PAS%20Stained%20Microscopy&entity_type[0]=Dataset\n* [@mrigendraagrawal](https://www.kaggle.com/mrigendraagrawal) initially mentioned this source\n\n
\n\n### **3.** **MORE TO COME...**\n\n
\n\n---\n\n

\n\n**[ORIGINAL POST]**\n\nHi all, I'm not sure how using external data works. \nI haven't yet started to use external data but I'm sure others have.\nUsually, when I use external data I share it with the community on an existing thread dedicated to this purpose. I'm not seeing anything like that so far in this competition.\n\nDo we need to share those sources publically during the competition? Is there a place to do this?\n\nEven if it's not mandated, I would/will encourage others to share the external data sources they are using. Either make a post detailing your sources or you can reply here with a comment?\n\n---\n\nFor reference here is the part of the rules I could find related to external data:\n\n> C. External Data. You may use data other than the Competition Data (“External Data”) to develop and test your Submissions. However, you will ensure the External Data is publicly available and equally accessible to use by all participants of the Competition for purposes of the competition at no cost to the other participants. The ability to use External Data under this Section 7.C (External Data) does not limit your other obligations under these Competition Rules, including but not limited to Section 11 (Winners Obligations).\n\n---\n\nAll the best!",
