\nI observe quite a few novice/ contributor accounts at the top-end of the leaderboard with very few submissions and in a great rank. I checked some of these accounts and find that they are very recently created as well. Here is an example of one such account at the very top end of the leaderboard-

In this case, the said individual directly joined Kaggle in the past 24-28 hours, logged into the competition, built a superb model and submitted 10 times in 2 days and received a gold position!!!
\nAlthough this is feasible, I wonder how these participants suddenly joined Kaggle in the past 2-4 days, built models and submitted exactly on-point to secure a silver/ gold place in the public leaderboard as on date?
\nI do not wish to pin-point anyone, but this accretion of novice/ contributor accounts with submissions in the past 6-12 hours and a direct entry to the gold/ high silver zone instills a seed of doubt for sure.

I checked some of these accounts and find that they are very recently created as well. Here is an example of one such account at the very top end of the leaderboard-\n\n\n\n\n\nIn this case, the said individual directly joined Kaggle in the past 24-28 hours, logged into the competition, built a superb model and submitted 10 times in 2 days and received a gold position!!! \n\nAlthough this is feasible, I wonder how these participants suddenly joined Kaggle in the past 2-4 days, built models and submitted exactly on-point to secure a silver/ gold place in the public leaderboard as on date? \n\nI do not wish to pin-point anyone, but this accretion of novice/ contributor accounts with submissions in the past 6-12 hours and a direct entry to the gold/ high silver zone instills a seed of doubt for sure. \n\nI hope these cases are dealt with appropriately, if applicable. \n\nBest regards.", "2822256": "I absolutely agree.. I am a contributor and this is my first competition. But, I have worked very hard over the past 3 months to study and understand the data and build multiple strong models to move up the leaderboard. Now suddenly, I see an influx of score over 0.6 which is very hard to achieve in only few tries. I understand many have used metric hack, but being a data scientist means the responsibility lies on us to use ethical techniques to get the best response. So, while I too have figured out how to hack the metric (after a lot of research), I am unwilling to make a submission using metric hack. I wholeheartedly accept being behind on the leaderboard using strong modeling techniques. For me, my principles matter more than end results, but, thats just me!
