"content": "
Hi everyone,
\n\n
We are happy to announce our second annual herbarium fine-grained recognition challenge, in partnership with the New York Botanical Garden as part of their efforts to automate species recognition and aid with species discovery. The challenge is part of the Seventh Workshop on Fine-Grained Visual Categorization (FGVC7) at CVPR 2020 in Seattle.
\n\n
Our first challenge, Herbarium 2019, focused on a dataset of ~46k flowering plants (Melastomes). This year, we greatly expand the dataset to over 1M vascular land plants (which includes lycophytes, ferns, gymnosperms, and flowering plants), with a much more long-tailed distribution.
\n\n
Looking forward to the interesting and creative solutions that you all come up with.
