  "content": "<p>The objective of the PhD position is to work on sound event recognition in the context of our <a href=\"https://annotator.freesound.org/fsd/\">Freesound Dataset</a> (FSD) and <a href=\"https://annotator.freesound.org/\">Freesound Annotator platform</a>, thus developing methodologies for the automatic identification of sounds by machines that can be used in a broad range of applications including new features for our <a href=\"https://freesound.org/\">Freesound website</a>. (nice post related to this in: <a href=\"http://www.eduardofonseca.net/fsd/2019/03/07/teaching-machines-hear.html\">http://www.eduardofonseca.net/fsd/2019/03/07/teaching-machines-hear.html</a>)</p>\n\n<p>Candidates should be able to demonstrate a background and prior research experience on machine learning (deep learning preferably) and signal processing topics of relevance for the position. Development experience in Python and web technologies is also recommended.</p>\n\n<p>The successful candidate will enroll in the PhD program of the Department of Information and Communication Technologies of the UPF. Practical and administrative information about the PhD program, including admission requirements, are available in <a href=\"https://www.upf.edu/web/doctorats\">here</a>. </p>\n\n<p>Interested people should send a CV, a motivation letter, and a first draft of a thesis proposal detailing a possible research plan, to mtg-info@upf.edu.</p>\n\n<p>Supervisors of the position: Frederic Font and Xavier Serra; Deadline for applications: until position is filled.
