  "content": "<p>Dear all, </p>\n\n<p>DCASE organizers have just confirmed an <strong>extension to the scientific papers submission deadline, to Monday 6th August 2018.</strong> <br>\n<a href=\"http://dcase.community/workshop2018/submission\">http://dcase.community/workshop2018/submission</a></p>\n\n<p>This deadline extension applies <strong>ONLY</strong> to the <strong>scientific papers to be submitted to the DCASE Workshop</strong>. It does <strong>NOT</strong> apply to the competition deadline, which remains the same (July 31st). The competition deadline was recently clarified by Addison in this thread. <br>\n<a href=\"https://www.kaggle.com/c/freesound-audio-tagging/discussion/61967\">https://www.kaggle.com/c/freesound-audio-tagging/discussion/61967</a></p>\n\n<p>Therefore, the system outputs + technical reports + metainfo files, either on DCASE or Kaggle, must be submitted by July 31st.</p>",

But there is no need for extensive literature review, for example.</p>\n\n<p>On the contrary, the scientific papers are for the DCASE Workshop. They will be peer reviewed, and must respect the structure of a scientific publication, and be prepared according to the provided Workshop paper instructions and template. </p>\n\n<p>Both (tech report and paper) can be the same, if the technical report is a bit more elaborated than required. For example, if you present a paper for the workshop, you just have to submit the same paper as tech report.</p>\n\n<p>please read carefully the info here:\n<a href=\"http://dcase.community/challenge2018/submission#technical-report\">http://dcase.community/challenge2018/submission#technical-report</a></p>",
