  "content": "<p>Hi,</p>\n<p>I am wondering about these GNU-license stuff. Can I write the code in fortran?</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>I ask because the standard compiler on unix is gfortran where the g stands for GNU. But I do not know how this licensing works, if I compile with a GNU-thing is also that what I compile becoming open source?</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>So is fortran ok independently of which compiler I use?       "content": "<p>Sandro, great question. &nbsp;</p>\n<p>Edit: Provided your final model submission is in the form of uncompiled source code (and your source code could potentially be compiled by ifort or another Fortran compiler), the particular compiler that you are using for your own testing is not an issue.</p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: line-through\">Assuming gfortran and ifort compile your code equally well, it sounds like you could use gfortran during the competition and then, if you win a prize AND it turns out that gfortran would cause license issues (I don't know whether it would or not), you could buy a commercial license to ifort (that's the worst-case scenario - and it looks like a license would cost a lot less money than the prizes). &nbsp;</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.4\">Does that help?</span></p>",
