"content": "
Interesting. I also have some questions about what the simulator does between the waypoints we provide:
\n
\n
Between waypoints, does the simulator force the plane takes a great-circle path, or could it vary? (e.g. a sudden wind blows a plane off the course but the simulator "autopilot" takes a slightly different course to reach the next waypoint).
\n
How does the simulator change airspeed or altitude between waypoints? Does it do some kind of interpolation to ramp them up/down if changes are needed? Or do they remain constant until reaching the next waypoint? [EDIT: granted, there will be some altitude corrections / rounding, as described here ]
\n
If waypoints imply that a flight violates the laws of physics, what happens? (e.g. supersonic or zero velocity, climb vertically, accelerate faster than a fighter jet, ascend to 200,000 feet)
\n
Are there any limits on the number of waypoints per flight in a submission? In the 'real world' training data, there's a median of about 65 waypoints in filed flightplans.
\n
\n
Granted, these questions might be easily answered after the simulator is available. So we'll see.
",
