I am wondering if anyone else has tried boosted trees on this and if they have been having success? </p>\n\n<p>I haven't used boosted trees much, but I am finding them to be rather second-rate in approaching this problem. Not sure if I just don't know how to use 'em, or if its just the wrong problem in which to apply them.</p>",

      "content": "<p>I don't mean to be overly naive, but hey I guess I am so theres no helping it. Now that I've admitted that: do you have any suggestions about what number of features are reasonable to feed a boosted tree? Or is it just as many as my computer can handle?</p>",

      "content": "<p>Xgboost and RF are performing about the same for me, with an ensemble of xgboost and RF doing the best so far. I used 100 features initially and then 50, with similar results. Unfortunately for me, those features don't seem to be quite the best ones:)</p>",

The catch was of course that It takes (cpu) time and probably (memory) space.</p>",
