  "content": "<p>Hello Everyone!</p>\n<p>The Cornell Birdcall Identification Dataset have many sounds of low quality, with high level background sounds and noises. Thus, I believe that applying some filtering method for noise reduction can improve the classification task.</p>\n<p>I present some initial tests on: <a href=\"https://www.kaggle.com/mauriciofigueiredo/methods-for-sound-noise-reduction\" target=\"_blank\">https://www.kaggle.com/mauriciofigueiredo/methods-for-sound-noise-reduction</a></p>\n<p>I present an introduction to signal high-pass filtering, PCEN and Spectral Gate. I think they have a great potential to improve the birdcall classification task. </p>\n<p>Have you experienced some of these techniques? How are they performing? Are you using some other strategy?</p>\n<p>Regards! </p>",
