"content": "
We would like to clarify the acceptable license for medals, points and prize money. After multiple discussions within the Kaggle and Bengali.AI team, we have decided to stick to the original rules stated in the rules page in the competition. To win the prize money the models need to have a license that follows Rule A.1 (specifically non-commercial use). However, we will allow participants to use CC-by-NC models to achieve medals and points in the leaderboard.
\n
For example, If a participant uses Meta's SeamlessM4T (CC-by-NC) to gain medal positions in the leaderboard, the participant will retain his points and medal but will not be eligible for the prize money.
\n
We understand that this might result in prize money winners who may or may not be in the top scoring positions. Nevertheless, this will promote the development of models with permissible licenses (mit, apache 2.0 or other on opensource.org). Additionally, we would also be able to observe the strength of CC-by-NC models developed by participants who are interested in Kaggle ranking only.
\n
Thanks to everyone for their valuable feedback. If you have any concerns, please continue discussion in this post.
",
