"content": "<p>First of all a Very BIG Thanks to Kaggle for this wonderful competition featuring Structured Data, Text Data and Images. It's like an All-in-One problem to learn multiple stuff.\nThis is my second competition and I should say I had a lot of learnings. There are dozens of people with whom I interacted in this competition and all of them good to go even with a dumbest question.</p>\n\n<p>From the bottom of my heart I have to thank <a href=\"/rashmibanthia\">@rashmibanthia</a> and my other team mates <a href=\"/abhimanyud\">@abhimanyud</a> , <a href=\"/yimacs\">@yimacs</a> and <a href=\"/peterzheng\">@peterzheng</a>. I have leart a lof of things from these guys. Though these guys are all busy with their day life and taking out few hours to work on Kaggle they are ready to answer all my questions. They even helped me setup GCP. I will definitely recommend these guys if you are planning for a Team-Up in the future competitions. </p>\n\n<p><a href=\"/peterhurford\">@peterhurford</a> was one of the cool guys who helped me with my initial questions. I saw very helpful with others on the Forum too and I wish him good luck for his First Gold.</p>\n\n<p>Below are few others who helped me directly or indirectly to learn new things in this competition..</p>\n\n<p><a href=\"/kailex\">@kailex</a>, <a href=\"/wesamelshamy\">@wesamelshamy</a>, <a href=\"/christofhenkel\">@christofhenkel</a>, <a href=\"/bminixhofer\">@bminixhofer</a>, <a href=\"/nicapotato\">@nicapotato</a>, <a href=\"/shanth84\">@shanth84</a>, <a href=\"/classtag\">@classtag</a>, <a href=\"/shivamb\">@shivamb</a>, <a href=\"/him4318\">@him4318</a>, <a href=\"/bguberfain\">@bguberfain</a>, <a href=\"/sudalairajkumar\">@sudalairajkumar</a>, <a href=\"/codename007\">@codename007</a></p>\n\n<p><strong>Lessons Learnt</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Try to understand the data better. If you don't have time, wait for the EDA from SRK, Lathwal or Shivam (Sorry guys I'm raising the bar for you!!)</li>\n<li>Start with simple Feature Engineering. They don't need rest :-)</li>\n<li>Note down all your mistakes and this will definitely help you in the next competition.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p>Last but not the least, please be considerate to others while posting a kernel in the last minute. It's cool to see your <strong>Blended Kernel</strong> on top of the list, but there are many others who are on the edge of receiving a medal loosing their opportunity. I know how heart wrecking it will be to loose a medal after struggling for 2 months just because someone has openly posted a blended kernel. Also there are hundreds who would have worked so hard to be in a good position and suddenly drop a thousand ranks in few hours just because of a public kernel. So, exercise caution when posting a kernel in the last minute and every one of us know what a bad kernel is!! (Wish Kaggle could delete a last minute Kernel automatically if it crosses a certain threshold score. I know it's a matter of debate.)</p>\n\n<p>I wish all the very best to each of the competitors specially for those who are looking for their first Gold or their first Medal.</p>",

"348674": "First of all a Very BIG Thanks to Kaggle for this wonderful competition featuring Structured Data, Text Data and Images. It's like an All-in-One problem to learn multiple stuff.\nThis is my second competition and I should say I had a lot of learnings. There are dozens of people with whom I interacted in this competition and all of them good to go even with a dumbest question.\n\nFrom the bottom of my heart I have to thank @rashmibanthia and my other team mates @abhimanyud , @yimacs and @peterzheng. I have leart a lof of things from these guys. Though these guys are all busy with their day life and taking out few hours to work on Kaggle they are ready to answer all my questions. They even helped me setup GCP. I will definitely recommend these guys if you are planning for a Team-Up in the future competitions. \n\n@peterhurford was one of the cool guys who helped me with my initial questions. I saw very helpful with others on the Forum too and I wish him good luck for his First Gold.\n\nBelow are few others who helped me directly or indirectly to learn new things in this competition..\n\n@kailex, @wesamelshamy, @christofhenkel, @bminixhofer, @nicapotato, @shanth84, @classtag, @shivamb, @him4318, @bguberfain, @sudalairajkumar, @codename007\n\n\n**Lessons Learnt**\n\n- Try to understand the data better. If you don't have time, wait for the EDA from SRK, Lathwal or Shivam (Sorry guys I'm raising the bar for you!!)\n- Start with simple Feature Engineering. Don't try to build a model from day 1.\n- You can go through the starter kernels to get an idea of how to work with this particular data.\n- Go through similar past competitions from Kaggle. This really helped me a lot. Go through the post competition discussions and solutions from each and every one.\n- I know most of us start with LightGBM. But work on other Algorithms too. They might be helpful in the later stages for ensembling.\n- Keep an eye on the Discussions. Also read the comments on each of the kernels. A simple idea mentioned in a comment on a not so popular kernel helped me moved from top 11% to top 8%. That's massive! (BTW, this is not in this competition.)\n- Maintain a proper version control. I did a mistake in my last competition and at least here I had a proper version control setup locally.\n- Try optimizing the code. It will save a lot of time and computation.\n- Create CSV files out of complex Aggregations as this will save a lot of time and will help to quickly test new things.\n- If you are serious in to learning then create and utilize(!) cloud services like GCP and AWS.\n- Try to form a team. This will help you a lot!! Ideas from multiple people definitely helps each other.\n- If you have an idea, keep your system busy in the nights. They don't need rest :-)\n- Note down all your mistakes and this will definitely help you in the next competition.\n\nLast but not the least, please be considerate to others while posting a kernel in the last minute. It's cool to see your **Blended Kernel** on top of the list, but there are many others who are on the edge of receiving a medal loosing their opportunity. I know it's a matter of debate.)\n\nI wish all the very best to each of the competitors specially for those who are looking for their first Gold or their first Medal.",
