"content": "
First of all, thanks to all the participants for sharing their approaches. I have nothing special to share, only a funny situation that shows how all of us here enjoy Kaggle and the competitions.
\n
The end of the competition coincided with the beginning of my vacations and before I go, my teammate and I were 1800ish on public LB and we had no expectations to achieve something. However, we didn't dedicate enough time to the final ensemble so I planned to carry my laptop with me and see if I can do something during holidays. I traveled with my gf to Asturias (Spain) and I ask her if she was ok with me taking the laptop and using it only during spare time in the apartment (she agreed).
\n
Asturias is a beautiful mountainous province and it rains quite often and if you want to see some of the most tourist places you have to go by car and ascend through the mountains. Well, 24th of August arrived (the day before the end of the competition, which also was my gf birthday haha) and I hadn't prepared properly the ensemble yet. We had planned to visit a village called Cudillero which was 1.5 hour from where we were staying. I realized that time in the car was the perfect and last chance to do the ensemble (we wouldn't have enough time afterwards), so I took my laptop with me. We end up in this situation: she driving the car, climbing a mountain, slightly raining outside, and me in the passenger seat trying to run the last submission connected to internet thanks to my mobile phone. I remember how difficult was to push the right keys in the curves 😄 (sorry I took a photo but somehow I lost it).
\n
Finally, I submit the final ensemble on time and we kept in the 1800ish, but I trusted our CV and expected a shake up. And that was what happened, we end up 228th and won a silver medal!
\n
The funny thing is that I have won 2 silver medals in my life and both during holidays with my gf (not the same gf). The first one had more drama and a big argument with the first gf, but that is another story 😉.
\n
Cheers!
",
