  "content": "<p>Hi all, I noticed some inconsistencies between legs*_duration and the sum of corresponding segment durations.</p>\n<p>Example (ID: 615738):<br>\nlegs0_duration: 03:00:00<br>\nlegs0_segments0_duration: 01:50:00<br>\nlegs0_segments1_duration: 01:40:00<br>\n--&gt;Sum of segments: 3h 30m &gt; Leg duration: 3h</p>\n<p>This causes layover wait time (calculated as leg duration - sum(segment durations)) to become negative or 0, even when there’s clearly a layover.</p>\n<p>Has anyone else seen this? Are the segment durations including layovers or is leg duration underreported?</p>\n<p>Thanks!</p>",

I assume this occurred in the 2024 data likely due to Kazakhstan's nationwide timezone change that year. Some glitches may have persisted for certain routes in that region. The Id refers to the route 'ALANQZ' (Almaty–Astana). In this case it probably would be correct to calculate the total duration based on segments not on the legs. But still it is your choice for a real data use case. </p>",
