"content": "
I had really wanted to do a simulation that evaluated the rule changes. My idea was most rules could be treated as shortening the punt. Some directly like limiting jammers -- the gunners would cover a 45* yard punt like a 40 yard punt if they weren't double teamed. Some indirectly like 5 yards for a fair catch -- the punt returner would call a fair catch on a 45* yard punt like they would on a 40 yard punt today. (*The exact numbers I had to figure out how to calculate)
\n\n
My idea then was to present the data as something like this image (the numbers are my guess, not real) https://ibb.co/XD3YQft
\n\n
I just wanted to share as part of my personal lessons learned. I was still working on my rule idea the final day of the competition. I realized now I should have finished that a couple weeks earlier. I should have also done a mockup of my graphs before I did the analysis. Can I create a visualization that conveys this idea well? If not, then I don't want to waste time on it As an example, I wanted to show the simulations using @robikscube really cool cloud graphs. As I started doing that, I realized it was too messy and didn't show what I wanted.
",
