"content": "
I am new to Kaggle and i was wondering how this works exactly (hopefully these don't sound like dumb questions). For my teams kernel, it has to be public to be considered for the competition right? In addition, how is the evaluation done for teams who have similar content?
\n\n
I'm wondering if i do make my kernel public, what protects me from other teams learning from my content and using/emulating it to their own advantage as either part of their analysis or their rule change?
\n\n
I suppose waiting to the last day to post my content is best to avoid this...
\n\n
Thanks for any help!
",

      "content": "
I'm pretty sure you need to make the kernel public. In the submission instructions it says:
\n\n

Kernels Analysis: At least one kernel containing the analysis to support your proposal. All kernels submitted must be made public on or before the submission deadline to be eligible. If submitting as a team, all team members must be listed as collaborators on all kernels submitted.\n

\n\n
As for people stealing your idea - there is a little more than 24 hours left. So I don't think you have much to worry about. My plan it to make mine public a few hours before the deadline.
\n\n
Excited to see everyone's work! (also excited to not think about punts for a while) :D
",
