  "content": "<p>Hello, </p>\n\n<p>As a total noob to NFL, while doing research on the rules I came across <a href=\"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feW_YOPcEDE\">this video</a> describing how the punt plays rules were changed in 2015 (I assume it was in 2015 as it's the publishing date of the video).</p>\n\n<p>I was wondering if we could find some data on concussions before and after the rule change</p>\n\n<p><strong>Edit : Those rule changes occured in the Canadian football league not the NFL, thanks <a href=\"/hamelg\">@hamelg</a> for pointing out</strong></p>",

If you read the official NFL rule-book it does have a rule in place preventing linemen from advancing downfield before the kick: </p>\n\n<p>Rule 9,  Section 1, ARTICLE 2. KICKING TEAM PLAYERS ON LINE DURING KICK. During a kick from scrimmage, only the end men (eligible receivers) on the line of scrimmage at the time of the snap, or an eligible receiver who is aligned or in motion behind the line and is more than one yard outside the end man, are permitted to advance more than one yard beyond the line before the ball is kicked.</p>",
