  "content": "<p>I found a paper in Nature Journal <strong>Deep learning of aftershock patterns following large earthquakes</strong> . </p>\n\n<p>It is different to what has been asked in this competition to predict but may be useful for generating ideas (in the paper they are predicting the probability on geospatial data).</p>\n\n<p>I found their method pretty interesting. Excerpt from the paper</p>\n\n<blockquote>\n  <p>Negative training data (grid cells without aftershocks) are downsampled during training. I would leave the upvote and downvote thingy here.</p>\n\n<p>&gt; I wonder what would happen if I was down voting all questions people ask me…</p>\n\n<p>You are undoubtedly one of the most important asset to Kaggle community. Along the years you have helped many improve their tiers in multiple categories, including me.</p>\n\n<p>&gt; What do you find interesting in this paper, except for the topic?</p>\n\n<p>I mentioned a tiny excerpt from the paper I found interesting. I will write a summary if time allows, didn't get much time to elaborate it further, it is very good work done by researchers at Google and Harvard. </p>\n\n<p>I feel you wanted me to be more specific. I was thinking though people who are interested in it further should read the paper itself. If it is not highest h index journal I would hardly read it but in this case it's not, so worth time and effort I am sure there is a lot to learn such as they have compared/benchmarked NN to some domain specific tools they use to predict earthquakes. </p>\n\n<p>J'espère que ça aide</p>\n\n<p>Merci</p>",
